I'm in complete denial over this thing called the bar exam. Third time's the charm is what I keep hearing, and I believe it. I'm not even depressed about it or intimidated. I just can't bring myself to sit down and actually start pouring over the stuff again, partly because I still remember it and maybe, just maybe, I'm slightly paranoid.
I know I don't need as much time as the first timers or even second timers, but I am going to bore myself to tears with questions. But to be honest I think I'm more freaked out by the fact that I have this trip scheduled in the middle of summer, and I wish I didn't.
That and relpax kicked my butt today. 😉 It works like a charm, and I am migraine free twice today, which is something zomig can't claim to do. I just can't stop slurring my sentences when I speak. I'm quite amusing and slightly naughty.
I have emails to write. I'm such a bad Yazzy. I can't even keep up with that. I'm more engrossed with the manga and anime I can't get my hands on than the stuff I should be doing. Procrastination is an art form, and I think I have it mastered.

Guys, it's common knowledge that there are certain things you just don't tell your girlfriends. You don't tell them they're ugly, and that you can get them an appointment with your best friend the plastic surgeon. You don't tell them to wear that low cut, oops was that a nipple, dress, because it reminds you of your ex-girlfriend. And you most certainly do not tell your girlfriend on her birthday that she should lose a few extra pounds.
If you love her for who she is then please, shut up and accept her for who she is on the inside and not on the outside (though she's pretty on the outside too) because right now you're not worth a damn compared to her.

Yay! They work again. Cookies work on my blog again. The fact that I no longer have to put in all the lovely details everytime I want to answer someone's comment amuses me to no end! I'm hopeless. 😉
By the way, I hope this means cookies work for everyone else too.
Curtis, chocolate or oatmeal?

rss-feeds

@ 05 . 22 . 04 @ 12:06

No matter where I go everyone is fascinated by rss. Sites crop up with their own bug free rss news feeders (you want me, you want me, no I don't, no I don't). I visit my favorite blogs, and I never fail to see those blinding bright, orange, little, buttons that always seem to want to say, "Yes, I'm an RSS2 zombie too!" And now there's this atom thing that is going around that is supposed to be better, and what is it all meant for? Here's the upshot:
Receive all the new entries from your favorite blogs that support rss in a news reader all in one page. So, instead of having to visit each and every individual weblog (Yes, some of the layouts are not easy on the eyes), all you have to do is open the reader and voila! Just like the results from a Google search all the entries will appear right before your eyes. No more extra arm movements as you rumage through those vast bookmarks with your mouse. All that exercise is such a waste of time! Kiss away those finger cramps. With just a click of a button the reader opens and you're in business.
You have to love an invention that feeds into a lazy society. And if you're looking for a good newsreader without the clutter, try bloglines. It adds a nifty little unassuming square in Mozilla, and that is all.

mt-3-0-2

A little over a week ago a very shocking thing happened. Movabletype 3.0 was released, and it came with a few surprises. Needless to say it was a tough week, more so because as a alpha/beta tester, I had no clue this was coming.
I'm not disappointed, and I'm not taking the time to rant about it now because there's no point. I love MT, and I hope that Six Apart keeps listening to the community.
Now Mena is asking how we use our MT installs. Well, this is my breakdown: past, present, and what I had planned for the future.
Currently I have two MT installs on my domain, version 3.0 which I'm still testing and may eventually use for something, and 2.661.
I run three weblogs and each has an author. This is one weblog, and the other two blogs I run for the people I host on my domain. One is used frequently, the other lapses. Sometimes it's not used for 90 days.
I plan to replace a group blog with an MT blog, which currently runs on greymatter. It's password protected. Right now there are about 7 active authors on that blog.
I've previously run a group blog on a different domain with MT using one blog and 5 active authors, 3 inactive.
The licenses need to take into consideration group blogs. There are some great group blogs out there with the ability to discuss relevant issues, or even post pretty pictures. Whatever. The fact of the matter is, the ability to have multiple authors is just a unique and relevant tool as the weblog, and many people count on having that. I think it would be more agreeable to add a few more authors to the licenses.

In a little over an hour I will be saying goodbye to yet another hour of excellent television. It's being replaced by reality tv. And then we wonder why pictures of prisoners in humiliating positions isn't so unbearable. We do it to ourselves in a reality show coming to a tv set soon.

supreme-court-denies-stay

On Monday, the first homosexual couples will be officially and legally married, and no one in that state can stop them thanks to the Supreme Court's decision to refuse to block the marriages.
The Court did not issue a comment, which in laymens' terms means that they take no position on the case either way. The matter will be taken up by the Court of Appeals in June. Scalia did gripe, but I'd be surprised if he didn't.
Should the Ct. of Appeals even grant a stay in the near future this is at least some kind of progress though it does or may place the court in a situation where it will have to decide whether marriage is a fundamental right between a man and a woman, or is it gender neutral. Either way, there's a fight in the federal system now, and I can only hope that our judges are sensible enough to look past their religious biases and can recognize that these are human beings that we're dealing with. People who are entitled to the same protections as heterosexual couples.
Pardon me, but I just don't get the whole 'it's against god, against nature' crap. If judges take issue with this, then they have no business being on the bench appointed or otherwise. Granted I have no control over this but that's just my two cents. 😉

resolving

@ 05 . 14 . 04 @ 12:55

My domain would have resolved overnight except that evil Network Solutions decided to replace the new domain servers with their own. I don't know why, but needless to say when I discovered the error this morning it was not pretty.
The change is taking place now, and I have tons of bandwidth and space. ::bounce:: Be patient until things go through.

reasons-and-then-not

@ 05 . 13 . 04 @ 14:42

Ok, so the server move didn't happen. I was completely and utterly shaken by what I saw yesterday. The words, "Please let me take it back," don't even express half of what I feel, and I'm about to do something that kinda goes against what I promised I would or rather wouldn't do.
More and more blogs are becoming the new media source. Tailored to the subjects that we're more interested in whether it be entertainment based or with a more liberal slant, I like Wizbang because I tend to find some off the wall news articles there, and they always go into something with an open mind regardless of their political mentalities because quite frankly everything is political right now.
The Nick Berg murder is causing a firestorm on the internet it seems. Our media is quite willing to show images of Iraqi prisoners being tortured and humiliated, and furthermore it's front page news. Why? Probably because it could mean trouble for Bush. Who knows. I don't care. The thing is, people want to know about Berg. They want to see the video. I'm assuming the majority want to see it because they need to. Call it affirmation. My mother calls it voyeurism. And then there are the sick fucks.
I would rather have not seen either. Not on tv. Not on the internet. But we're Americans and as Americans we perhaps have a right to that information, so for the next day I'm providing a link to the video. It's not work safe, and it's not for the meek. Wizbang and some other sites have been swamped, but apparently I'm doing just fine. Then again sitemeter seems to be dead. I'm switching servers tonight so beware, and for the love of God if you're just looking for the video to see a man die, you're a sick fuck. There's nothing great about seeing a man my age screaming for 20 odd seconds while they saw his head off.
